FastTrack Migration Team has paused net new certificate authentication configurations for the foreseeable future due to two potential bugs that have been discovered in the Mailbox Replication Service (MRS). The two potential bugs give the following errors.
- "object not found" in Azure AD.
- "Request Entity Too Large" while creating migration batch.
This change impacts commercial Exchange and Gmail customers only.
Impact
- FastTrack will require all inflight Gmail to Exchange migrations to ROLL BACK to legacy authentication (username/password).
- All net new Gmail to Exchange customers will use legacy authentication.
- Exchange to EXO customers currently using certificate authentication can continue to use certificate authentication. Should they encounter an issue, they will have the option to revert back to legacy authentication by working with MST.
- CHANGE is effective May 10th, 2021.
