ODfB: Referrals may increase due to an RFA Process change

Referral-ready partners may receive an increase in ODfB referrals.

We have implemented a change to the RFA review process to expand the ODfB referrals eligible to route to partners.

Awareness Only

Effective May 5, 2021, the following RFA-review process change has been implemented:

All RFAs processed for OneDrive for Business (ODfB) will now be reviewed to confirm eligibility, regardless if SharePoint Online (SPO) was or was not requested.
  • Previously, if only OneDrive was requested as a standalone workload on the RFA form, the Assignment Business Rules may have been bypassed.
    • Due to RFA form displaying ODfB as a full workload instead of a sub-workload of SPO.
    • Multiple workloads were most commonly selected, having low impact on Referral routing (i.e., often ODfB RFAs also have SPO selected).
  • ODfB incentive is claimed under SPO, and now all RFAs will be reviewed with this consideration.
    • All RFAs requesting ODfB will now be reviewed for SPO eligibility.
    • ODfB RFAs meeting the SPO business rules will now be Referral eligible as part of the routing rules.
