Edge Incentive
Thank you for making our major campaign around Microsoft Edge (Anaheim) a huge success this fiscal year! We launched the Microsoft Edge Primary Browser Usage Incentive Program incentive in August 2020. As outlined in the T&Cs the incentive
will end in 30 days on June 30, 2021, which means new registrations will no longer be accepted after this date.
To thank our partners for their commitment and support to the Edge motion this year, we are pleased to announce that
incentives may be earned for eligible usage (Edge PBMAU) on registrations for an additional two months in FY22 - for growth in July and August 2021. Final payments for the incentive program will be made one month in arrears (August or September).
By working together, we have seen incredible success and momentum as Microsoft Edge continues to gain user adoption and share in the market.
Last week we announced that the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge. Internet Explorer mode (IE mode) provides legacy browser support within Microsoft Edge. Because of this, the IE11 desktop application on certain operating systems will be retired on June 15, 2022. IE11 desktop applications will no longer be supported and will be redirected to Microsoft Edge when a user tries to access it.
IE Retirement Announcement
Please review the
IE Retirement Announcement blog for details and share this announcement with any customers that may still be using IE11.
We expect this announcement to drive increased demand from customers who need assistance with deploying Microsoft Edge, configuring sites to run in IE mode, testing sites, and modernizing their apps. Please consider these needs for any relevance to your existing service offerings and upcoming marketing campaigns. We see large partner opportunities as customers
continue the shift to a modern browser and modern app ecosystem. Microsoft has investments supporting customers migrating from Internet Explorer to Microsoft Edge such as FastTrack App Assure.
We will explore future opportunities for partners to support Microsoft Edge. In the meantime, we will also continue to highlight your relevant offerings within the OCP Solution Catalog to FastTrack MWAs and field teams.
Thank you again for the incredible partnership over the year, on this important work to help commercial and education customers find more secure and productive ways to work online with Microsoft Edge.
