Matt OntellA Message from Matt Ontell

It was so great to see all of you at the Connections Event. Thank you so much to everyone who shared your precious time with us and the wonderful engagement with questions, chats, and of course amazing GIFs.

A HUGE thank you to our partner presenters. We all appreciated learning from you and the approach you take to drive your business and support Microsoft customers. I especially valued hearing the partner stories- hearing them directly from you reminded me of why I’m so excited to be a part of this program. Part of the Connections Event is the chance to humanize and connect with one another.

While saddened by the continued challenges the pandemic continues to pose, especially in India and Brazil, I’m pleased to announce that similar to the COVID trials we had in 2020, Microsoft will be extending special trial offers in these markets and we are honored to support an FRP-specific incentive to assist with deployment. Details will be shared in Yammer and by your FPMs as appropriate.

As we head into Q4, we appreciate everyone’s continued focus on driving customer success across E3 and E5 services, as well as Edge. We’re seeing continued momentum in the market for Modern Work and Security, as highlighted by the recent Q3 earnings announcement.

As we shared at the event regarding FY22, some really exciting areas of new investment will be around Viva, Teams Voice, and advanced Security and Compliance workloads.
Please continue to share your feedback, suggestions, and thoughts, and upvote on those previously submitted by others via the feedback portal (aka.ms/frp-insights) so we can incorporate those into the roadmap and planning for FY22.
Thanks!

India and Brazil Emergency COVID-19 Response

With COVID-19 cases surging in India and Brazil, our thoughts are with colleagues and their families and friends. Thank you for all that you’re doing to support customers, partners, and team members during this challenging time.

Microsoft remains committed to helping organizations stay connected and productive during this difficult period, and as such, we are offering a new set of Office 365 E1 trials for government, hospital, and commercial customers in India and Brazil, available immediately.

FRPs may earn Onboarding and Adoption incentives on the Office 365 E1 trial (customers who purchase at least 150 entitlements of the qualifying SKU). The trial offers are available to managed customers with a valid TPID in the India and Brazil markets through June 30, 2021.

Look for more details regarding the incentive structure and how to participate in the coming days.

April FRP incentive statements

April FRP statements were delivered last week, including payment for new workloads.

Read the Yammer post regarding April FRP incentive statements for details and to join the conversation

Key updates for the April FRP statements are:
Beginning with the April statement and moving forward, usage data definitions for incentives paid through the FastTrack Ready Partner program will be consistent with Partner Center usage data. *
  • Payment for milestones achieved October 2020 through March 2021 for the following workloads new to FY21 are included in the April statement: Teams – Meetings, Teams – Phone System, Teams – Platform and MIP**.
  • M365 Apps milestones achieved December 2020 through March 2021 will be paid in the April statement.
  • Microsoft Cloud Apps Security (MCAS)
    • Payment for MCAS incentives achieved from October 2020 through February 2021 will be included in the April statement.
    • Payment for MCAS incentives achieved from March 2021 and onward TBD. ***
  • Payment for milestones achieved in March include Edge, OLM-Intune, A310, EXO (EDU), SPO (EDU), AADP (EDU), Intune (EDU).

*OLM-Intune and A310 will continue to use the existing FastTrack data source.

**MIP – The FRP Program Team are aware of an issue causing an undercount of MIP usage for March. While MIP was included in the April FRP statements, we recognize that there may be underpayment. The under payment will be resolved programmatically in the May statement with the corrected data.

***As shared with Partner Center Incentive Administrators via email, Microsoft has identified an issue with MCAS usage data. Payment processing for MCAS milestones achieved from March forward will resume following resolution.

New Microsoft Security interactive guides now available

Four new interactive guides regarding Microsoft Security technologies to help you drive compelling conversations with your customers are available. The interactive guides are hands-on experiences outside of a gated platform, where customers can experience our products in complex scenarios. Users are provided end-to-end, in-depth, and step-by-step guidance during these technical experiences.

[Plan for Change] Basic Mobility and Security ending support for automatic enrollment from Azure AD registration

As of August 1st 2021, Basic Mobility and Security will no longer support automatic enrollment from Azure AD registration.

How this will affect your organization:
If users are assigned the “MDM user scope” setting in Azure AD and the tenant authority is not set to Intune or the user is not licensed for Intune, the automatic enrollment will fail.

What you need to do to prepare:
Check your configuration of MDM user scope in Azure AD for the Microsoft Intune app and ensure only users licensed for Intune are in scope and your MDM authority is set to Intune before August 1, 2021. If you are not using Intune, set MDM user scope to “None” on the Microsoft Intune app in the Azure AD portal.
Get the full details and join the discussion regarding the change in basic mobility and security on Yammer.
