Upcoming changes to the OLM-MAM report

To improve your visibility to OLM-MAM opportunities, the following FRP Dashboard enhancements are anticipated to be included in the April 29th, 2021 release:
  • Removal the “OLM Eligible %AU” filter, which will allow you to see all tenants regardless of OLM AU% at time of claim
  • Two new columns are being added to indicate if the tenant is eligible for the 15% and 40% milestones based on the OLM AU% at time of claim
[Under Investigation] Bug: OLM-MAM report is not correctly showing all tenants.
  • Expected behavior: Tenants with valid Exchange: Outlook Mobile claims that are eligible for the 15% or 40% incentives should be included in the report
  • Impact: Partners are unable to reliably estimate OLM-MAM opportunity
  • Updates on this issue will be provided in Yammer as they become available.

[Plan for Change]: Intune moving to support Android 6.0 and higher in April

Intune will be moving to support Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and higher in the April (2104) service release.

How this will affect your organization:
Given that the Office mobile apps for Android ended support for Android 5.x (Lollipop) on June 30th, 2019 this may not affect you; you have likely already upgraded your OS or devices.

However, if you have any device that is still running Android version 5.x, or decide to enroll any device that is running Android version 5.x, please note that these devices will no longer be supported. Either update them to Android version 6.0 (Marshmallow) or higher or replace them with a device on Android version 6.0 or higher.

Read more in Yammer about what to expect and how to prepare for Intune moving to support Android 6.0 and higher in April.

April Edge News

Read the April Edge Newsletter with fresh resources including Edge press coverage, App Assure for Edge, Intent, Deployment and Adoption resources, Microsoft Search in Bing (MSB), M365 support deprecation for IE11 and Edge Legacy end of support and more.

We have updated the Core Resources Guide for Q4 as your single frame of reference for all details of the Edge motion from Intent gathering to Deployment and to Adoption. Additionally, we have moved this asset to Yammer for quick access. Please check this monthly for additional news (https://aka.ms/FRPEdgeIncentiveCoreResources)

FY21 Q4 Updates include updated references in notes section, consolidated slides into 3 sections – Edge motion details, readiness assets & and adoption resources, refreshed partner go-dos and updated targeting criteria.

Edge in-product communication available for S2500 customer by default

All S2500 customer devices who have Windows 10, have Edge installed, and have Spotlight enabled will start receiving these new messages. Messages are delivered to the user on the lock screen. After the first click the messages are throttled. Customers can opt-out of the messages by applying the Windows spotlight group policy to disable Window 10 spotlight. A significant portion of the S2500 have disabled the spotlight feature. Customers can restore the spotlight feature to enable this in-product communication.

The campaign will only be delivered to English users. Future updates will address further markets.

Note that current playbook in task 4188: End User Adoption Workshop calls out an option for customers to opt-in to the in product communication treatment via the Edge Deployment Advisor. This option has NOT been delivered. Only 2500 customers will receive in-product communication at this time. The inclusion of the admin center opt-in option is incorrect.

Restrict Internet Explorer by policy | new FTOP task – effective April 7, 2021

This guidance will support customers to restrict ongoing use of IE by the users as it implements a new policy that removes the IE entry point from the start menu and re-directs links to Edge. This change will be a key element to enable organizations to change user behavior centrally by policy and ensure they are ready for the August end of support date.

Impact of Change
This new task will guide customers and Partners to consider to restrict use of Internet Explorer 11 for their users. This is enforced via policy, thus once enabled they can proactively move remaining IE use to Edge. This guidance includes considerations to
  • verify all sites that require IE are configured in the customer site list
  • user communications to prepare the users for the change
  • guidance to enable the policy.

M365 Admin Center browser usage reporting

The M365 Admin Center Reporting now has the latest telemetry data for Microsoft browser monthly active usage. IT Pros can now see a detailed report of all Microsoft browser usage across their organization. This information will provide valuable insight and aid in reaching their Microsoft Edge adoption goals.

Customers currently do not have an intelligent way to account for the success of their Microsoft Edge deployment and adoption efforts. Having the proper telemetry and reporting available to view monthly active usage of M365 Services across all Microsoft browsers used in their organization directly in the M365 Admin Center will aid in their deployment and adoption efforts.

Note: This report is representative of Microsoft ONLY (including Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Edge Legacy, and Internet Explorer) browsers and is specific to monthly active usage (MAU) of connected M365 services. This report does not show usage of other browsers nor is it the same PB MAU metric that the Edge motion is tracking on.
