We would really like a customer facing web page, published by Microsoft, that explains the CPOR process to customers. CPOR registration is a difficult conversation for partners, and we would like to reference the customer with a Microsoft view of the process - since it is a Microsoft process. We’d like this to be a document that we can share with customers to help them understand what to expect when a partner files for CPOR. It should also include information around the POE process, from a customer perspective – including what accepting POE means to the customer (eg. what access this gives and doesn’t give to the partner). Having this document written from Microsoft and directed to the customer will be very helpful. Ideally it would be fairly short and simple to read for customers that want to scan it quickly to get the jist.

2021-04-27 - Assignment Team - assigning to Partner Support Team to triage.
2021-05-11 - EPX - Thank you for raising this item.  We have added it to our list of Asks from FRPs we will share with the OSU team as they plan for FY22.  Additional question on this item - is the intention for this to be a website page where partners can point customers identifying this is a Microsoft requirement or to explain why the information is necessary?
2021-07-23 - Program team - Good news! We have worked with our team in OSU to develop a standalone page describing the CPOR process: https://aka.ms/about-cpor
This is customer-facing and an improvement over the partner-facing page. We hope this will better meet your needs. Please let us know of any feedback through the comments section below.

  • We (Dell) requested months ago a MS CPOR customer facing site and/or FastTrack public site mentioning about CPOR registration and T&C.
The responsibility to explain CPOR and the benefits to the customer are not transparent in order for the partner to more easily ensure that the customer is aware to their benefit.MS Account Team and customers ask always questions about CPOR registration.
As of today we need to explain CPOR to our customer in order to deliver them their  FT benefit. From our partner materials, this is the only MS guidance and it is only partner facing:

With out proper understanding and explanation (albeit with no partner materials to support us) it is very easy to have customers chose to opt-out.

  • Yes please! Customer wants to know why they need to sign those papers and all partners have their own justification which is crazy. So getting this process and justification in standards by Microsoft makes process easy for proper FRPs.

  • Could not agree more.  This would remove so much of the friction and delays in getting the program engaged with customers.
  • Response: Exactly the intention for this to be MS  website page where partners can point customers identifying this is a Microsoft requirement or to explain why the information is necessary. As of today only DPOR has such a MS page.
  • This was now created two weeks ago.

  • This content has also been created and published to explain CPOR, with the intended audience being customers (rather than partners).
